Useful Windows 9x/ME Shortcuts

The ZipGuy is proud to feature the first webpage
(as far as he knows) on February, 2001,
that has, and is dedicated to,

Tiny, Useful, Downloadable Windows Shortcuts!

These are ZipGuy "Magic" Shortcuts. Just kidding about the "Magic" part. They are a new idea for downloadable items from the web.

These particular ones :

Work on Windows 9x/ME (most work on Windows NT/2000, but some don't)
Can be downloaded directly to your Desktop Folder
Are Tiny less than 400 bytes, YES bytes
Take you directly to places in Windows by just double clicking on an ICON
Save you Time by Avoiding all the menu navigation and right clicking that it normally takes to get to many of these places
Can be used when helping someone, who is less familiar with Windows, to get to a particular part of Windows, without having to explain (and walk them through) the process of how to get there

For example, say that you often like to go to the "Performance" Tab of the "System Properties" dialog box to check on your System's Resources. You can do this now (there are various ways) by:

Right clicking on "My Computer"
Selecting the "Properties" choice from the Context Menu
Clicking on the "Performance" tab of the "System Properties" dialog box

Or, after downloading it, you can just double click on this shortcut's icon on your desktop

To Download any of these just Click on them and then

Select "Save to Disk"
Save to your "Desktop"

After that you can copy and move them, if you want, to any folder you like (or Rename them)

If you like any of these, and want that shortcut just:

Click on it
Save it to disk, to your desktop.

Remember that they are incredibly small so the download is virtually instantaneous. the typical small Ad banner is like 30 times larger than a shortcut. Neat huh?

shortcuts.zip 19,526 Bytes You unzip yourself, in whatever directory you like (for Windows 9x/ME). It will create a subfolder called "shortcuts" you unzip it with all the shortcuts

shortcuts.exe 61,738
Bytes Self de-zipping file (for Windows 9x/ME), which will create a folder called "shortcuts" on your desktop (C:\Windows\desktop) with all the shortcuts

Then you can have your away with them, moving and copying them to where ever you like. 8-P
