Esxclusively there, you can get things like

because the newer versions of Ghostcript
use different folder names |
| NOTE:Ghostscript
version 7.04 uses the same filename, but a different folder, for it's
PostScript to PDF Converter (than the Ghostscript 6.01 version
for which Free PDF v0.95, and it's documentation, was originally
written).
Becuase of this you'll need to, one-time, tell Free PDF to look in a
different folder for that pdfconverter file, than it's default
location
If you don't,
You'll get
a Missing
c:\aladdin\gswin32c.exe
ERROR
becuase Free PDF is looking in the wrong folder for
gswin32c.exe |
To fix this: Let the Ghostscript install in it's default
directories, and follow the instructions. When you're done....
When you run Free PDF the first time, reconfigure Free PDF just once and
tell it to use the pdfconverter in the new location
by using the "Configure" button and then
click on the
c:\aladdin\gswin32c.exe
link and point to new location (for the pdfconverter) using the standard
Windows "File Open" dialog box at
C:\gs\gs7.04\bin\gswin32.exe
then will work properly. |

Free PDF Currently v0.95 Public Beta (776k) - This has the installer,
the Free PDF program files you need, a short HTML file, the source code,
and the OLD Config.PDF file
This is the recommended "Normal
Download". This is the
minimum you need.
Download Free PDF v0.95
Public Beta from Simtel network. (over 90,000 downloads!)

However, you should also download the newer
Free PDF Configuration PDF Only (Zipped) which
has the latest instructions and will make your configuration much
easier.

This is the STRONGLY
Recommended
Configuration PDF, rather than using
the one in the "Normal Downlaod". Download
and use this configration PDF, as it is NEWER and BETTER (than the
one that is included is in the "Recommended Download"), and is the
best one to use when configuring.
For example, the "Important Change to Instructions", mentioned above, is
included in this version,

Page. This release has many new features. See the "Sneak
Peek" page for details.
Please make sure to read the instructions on the "Sneak
Peek" Page, as the configuration of the RPT1 port has changed, and that
is where the information you will need resides.
It is recommended to get v0.95 working first and then upgrade to the new
version. The upgrade is very easy.

Installation and
Configuration
The Setup is a pain but then again the price is right! Mostly the setup is
hard because you need to
BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY TRY TO INSTALL AND CONFIGURE
EVERYTHING!
Make sure you have
either:

trying to do.

read the Configuration page in the Download carefully and follow it's step
by step instructions with Screen Shots.
If you have, you should be able to get this version
to work. Thousands of people have done so
and are merrily creating their own PDFs using Free PDF.
